Hi Students,

All of the students did a GREAT JOB during testing, showing your personal integrity and commitment to excellence.

We had a great time at the Johnson’s Ranch off of Johnson’s Ranch Road. Ms. Roberts has assured me that she will have the pictures from the event on the web site soon. Please send your digital pictures to Mr. Monroe so he can load them on the web site. What a great time we had looking at the chickens, pigs, and horses. And, don’t forget those who walked away with a few splinters in their seats from the Tee-Der-Todder. What wiffle ball players we had as the game ended with Mr. Barhart stopping the ball with his eye – we know he doesn’t block that way in class. Please take a moment to send a note of thanks to the Johnson’s for hosting the party. They have offered to let us come back again in the future.

We are leaving one test cycle and moving to another. Please take time to reflect to see where you can improve your personal performance. You know, look at your basics, at your one steps and see where you had trouble. Also, I want each of you to look at what you enjoyed most and performed the best and work on it too. It is amazing how much you can gain in your training by focusing on areas of improvement.

We have many new color belts and one new Blue Belt. Mr. Rojas is your newest Blue belt. He has committed himself to the studio and you. Please welcome him to the Ranks of the seniors of our studio.

Times are moving fast and the clinic is fast approaching (March 10/11). This clinic is designed for those special invited Red belts and those above Red. We will host a pre-test for Black Belts on Friday and continue Saturday with the Clinic for attendees. Please take time to study your tournament rule books; you may purchase one from Mrs. Roberts if you do not have a 2005 version. With the promotion to higher ranks comes more commitment and dedication. You will be allowed and required to become a corner judge and work toward becoming a center judge. These activities will be tracked by the Region and counted toward your testing to senior ranks. Remember you will be required to keep all of your certificates for events as proof of attendance

Each of you should be very please and congratulate yourselves on a fine test cycle. But, now is the time to buckle down and move yourself past where you are to further your skills and training. Commit to training at least 15 minutes a day on your off days and focus on your areas for improvements and thing you do well. And, get a note book to write a log of things your working on and lessons you learned. Perhaps one day you can write a book like Grandmaster Shin and leave a legacy.

Tang Soo!

I just wanted to say "well done" to all my fellow students for their performance in today's belt testing. For many of us, it is a long hard trip (even without the Endurance at the end) and having great peers like you guys working beside me sure makes it easy. I thought the testing went even better than normal - everyone took it seriously, looked to give it their all - and everyone looked sharp. It's a pleasure working with you all. Thank you!

On another note, February 25th we'll have our awards ceremony and our well-deserved after-party (we're going to have it at a park!). Look forward to partying with you guys again! - Mr. Monroe

Just a few things ... testing is coming up on the 11th ... do you have your stripes yet? Also, a brand new ATSD Schedule document is available above the news here, under the latest newsletter. More to come on the Black Belt club's Epilepsy Walk coming soon! - Mr. Monroe
